andBeyond rebuilds its Xaranna safari lodge in Botswana's Okavango Delta
Nine pool suites, a stargazing nest and interiors drawn from reeds, floodplains and Botswana weaving, reopening after an extensive rebuild.
andBeyond is rebuilding its Xaranna lodge, which sits on a 90,500-hectare concession in Botswana's Okavango Delta, and plans to reopen it as andBeyond Xaranna Okavango Delta Lodge in August 2027. The interiors are by LIFE Interiors Architecture Strategic Design, who took their cues from the slow movement of the floodplains, the straight lines of reeds and the country's weaving traditions. Expect rope detailing, sage and forest greens, blonde linen and textured weaves, warmed up with timber and beaten brass.
Guests arrive by boat or vehicle and move through a run of open, light-filled rooms that reveal the Delta bit by bit. The main living area takes its idea from the Setswana tradition of gathering, with a boma for evenings outdoors, a library, a sculptural wine bodega and a stargazing nest above the floodplains. There will be nine 160m² suites, each with a personal bar, a two-way fireplace, a private pool and a shaded sala, plus a 404m² two-bedroom family suite whose halves can also be booked separately.
Wellness covers a hammam, rain and Vichy showers, a hot tub and hydrotherapy deck, and a gym with a cold plunge overlooking the wetlands. Jason King of andBeyond calls the approach "Delta-led". This is a press release for now, but worth noting if you are planning a Botswana circuit that takes in Sandibe or Nxabega.
