The story

Set among mopane and palm trees in the northern Okavango Delta, reached by small plane, the lodge pairs forest-shrouded chalets with a relaxed, unstuffy mood. Each tent has an open-air lounge with fire pit, a king-size bed under mosquito netting, copper-trimmed baths and a multi-level deck with plunge pool, outdoor shower and day bed. Elephants, hippos and leopards can appear within view of the camp's balconies and platforms. Twice-daily game drives with a guide and tracker cover a concession rich in lion and leopard, with wild dogs and cheetah also seen; birding is best from December to March. Meals move between a treehouse-like pavilion, the main deck and a fire-lit boma, with grilled Botswana beef, build-your-own lunches and kudu burgers at brunch. A spa, gym, bar and pizza ovens round it out.
