Mildred's Bar & Restaurant
Martinis, vermouth and seafood-driven plates fill this ground-floor bar and restaurant at the Warbler on St. Charles Avenue, from the team behind Cure and Andrew Zimmerman of Chicago's Michelin-starred Sepia.
The story
Mildred's is the Warbler hotel's martini bar and restaurant, pairing the ease of European café culture with the warmth of New Orleans hospitality. The food and drink programme comes from CureCo, the New Orleans group led by Neal Bodenheimer and Kirk Estopinal behind the James Beard Award-winning Cure, working with longtime collaborator Andrew Zimmerman of Sepia. The menu is inventive and draws on a mix of influences, with clam toast among the standouts and a vermouth service alongside carefully made martinis. The room is comfortable and classic, made for lingering, and the day starts here with breakfast. The hotel sits on the edge of the Garden District, with a St. Charles streetcar stop just outside and a rooftop bar, Upstairs, overhead.
