Frieze Week 2026 in London: Frieze London, PAD and Minor Attractions

A walk through this year's fairs, where melting furniture, patched-up surfaces and broken bodies reflect an uneasy present.

Livingetc's Gilda Bruno spent Frieze Week 2026 moving between Frieze London in Regent's Park, PAD London in Berkeley Square and Minor Attractions, the fringe fair held at The Newman hotel in Fitzrovia. Her verdict: an unsettled mood, with artists and designers working through anxieties about climate, screens and exhaustion.

At PAD, furniture seemed to be either melting or freezing. Studio Rinck's Throne Armchair lets its leather spill down the back, Irene Cattaneo's bronze and glass Snowdrop lamp borrows from the winter flower, and Jungin Lee's iceberg-shaped armchair is built from over 100 layers of Korean hanji paper. Elsewhere, a patched-together look ran through the fair, from Vincent Dubourg's cobalt-patinated Blue Weather cabinet to a quilt of stitched tote bags at Minor Attractions.

Frieze London brought 172 galleries across five sections. Bruno lingered over Jonathan Owen's re-carved marble figure, its head collapsing forward, and Steph Huang's playful room of found packaging. Sessions Arts Club teamed up with COMPLETEDWORKS on recycled glassware and a uniform for its Pilgrimage installation.

The fairs have closed, so treat this as a record of what designers are thinking about now, and a useful primer for collectors planning next year's trip.
