Frieze London

Each October, tents rise in The Regent's Park for Frieze London, a major contemporary art fair where international galleries show new work, running alongside Frieze Masters and the outdoor Frieze Sculpture trail.

The story

Frieze London fills a temporary tented site in The Regent's Park, with gallery stands showing contemporary art that swings from the thought-provoking and beautiful to the openly baffling. Recent editions have included work by John Akomfrah, and pieces at the top end sell for millions. The fair runs in tandem with Frieze Masters, with tickets offered for both. Beyond the tents, Frieze Sculpture sets large outdoor works among the park's lawns; past pieces have included FibreDog, Life Rings, Ghost and a Stainless Steel Rhododendron. The wider Frieze Week adds London gallery walks, a public programme and an online Frieze Viewing Room. The Frieze London Artist Award commissions new work, with Greek artist Theo Triantafyllidis creating a giant spider.
