The Parlour opens at the Europa Hotel in Belfast
The Europa has turned its old Piano Restaurant into a room for afternoon tea, small plates and live piano, and refreshed its lounge.
The Europa Hotel in Belfast has turned its former Piano Restaurant into The Parlour, an open-plan room for relaxed daytime dining, afternoon tea and evening gatherings. General manager Andy McNeill says the aim was a space that suits the hotel's heritage while responding to how guests now like to socialise, dine and relax.
The room has been redone with contemporary furniture and bespoke finishes: soft neutral tones, rich blue upholstery and subtle brass detailing. The hotel's famous piano has been moved into a dedicated area set aside for live music. By day The Parlour hosts the Europa's afternoon tea; in the evening it serves small plates alongside wine, champagne and signature cocktails.
The Piano Lounge has had a refresh too, with new furnishings, banquette seating and a long cocktail table for a drink while you wait for a table. McNeill says demand for the lounge keeps growing, so the work adds seating as well. Outside the Grand Ballroom, a new Italian marble floor has gone down.
This reads like a hotel announcement and gives no prices, hours or booking details, so check those before you go. A good one to save for afternoon tea, or a cocktail by the piano, on a trip to Belfast.
