Ruby lands in Marseille with rooms and workspaces
The brand’s first French address pairs 237 rooms with a rooftop terrace and a new workspace concept near the Vieux Port.
Ruby has made its French debut in Marseille with Ruby Lilou, a 237-room hotel set between the Vieux Port and La Joliette. The idea is to root the brand’s usual city-hotel formula in Marseille’s particular mix of Mediterranean ease and independent spirit, with interiors drawing on lavender tones, sun-bleached stone, the sea and the city’s creative energy. Opening alongside it is Ruby Yani, bringing the group’s workspace model to France for the first time.
The hotel’s rooms are split across Nest, Cosy, Lovely and Wow categories, and take cues from luxury yacht design. The practical comforts are familiar ones: oversized beds, walk-in rainfall showers and blackout curtains, with design details intended to echo Marseille’s maritime life. Elsewhere, music runs through the stay, from evening live acts to in-room Marshall amplifiers and Bluetooth speakers.
For anyone who spends as much time in shared spaces as in their room, the social side seems central here. There is a 24/7 bar and café for drinks and light bites, plus a 300-square-metre rooftop terrace with wide views towards the Mediterranean. Ruby Yani adds more than 126 flexible workstations, private offices, meeting rooms and phone booths, making this as much a place to work or meet as to sleep. One to note if you like your hotels with a bit of city life built in.
