Hyatt Regency Jiaxing Nanhu has opened on the edge of South Lake, bringing Hyatt’s full-service Regency brand to Jiaxing for the first time. The setting is the draw here: the hotel sits in the city’s South Lake district, beside the water and next to Nanhu Place, a lakeside cluster of shops, restaurants and entertainment. From here, guests are also within easy reach of some of Jiaxing’s best-known sights, including the South Lake Scenic Area, Yuehe Historic District and Zicheng Ruins Park.

Inside, the hotel has 201 rooms and suites shaped by Jiangnan references and a pared-back modern look. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring in natural light and garden views, while family travellers get a Camp Hyatt kids’ club and some rooms include Regency Club access with breakfast, coffee and evening cocktails. Dining is spread across three venues: the Lobby Lounge for tea and informal meetings, Xiangyue Chinese Restaurant for seasonal Jiaxing flavours, and Market Cafe, where open kitchens and outdoor waterside seating keep things lively from breakfast to dinner.

There is also a sizeable events operation, with more than 4,500 square metres of meeting space, plus a 24-hour gym and an indoor heated pool. Useful for travellers heading into the Yangtze River Delta, especially if you want a hotel base close to the lake rather than deep in a larger city.
