The story

The shop calls its stock Necessary Luxuries, and the range runs wide: room fragrance and candles, marble coasters and decoupage glass trays, playing cards, herbal incense, perfumes, cookbooks, pillows and kaftans, plus tarot decks and crystals. Goods come from around the world and from closer to home, including Born in Sonoma Made in St. Louis room candles and glasses printed with 314 and CWE. The inventory is refreshed regularly, so there is usually something new on the shelves. Owners Ross and Debbie brought a relaxed, wine-country feel with them from California, and the store runs on conversation. They will share the history of the shop and the origins of the pieces it carries. A record usually spins behind the register, and the storefront is designed to feel calm and easy to browse.
