St Regis Singapore reopens with gardens on the mind
A full hotel overhaul brings refurbished rooms, renewed event spaces and three new dining venues inspired by the Botanic Gardens.
The St Regis Singapore has completed a US$44 million refurbishment that reaches across all 299 guestrooms, its event spaces and several public areas. The redesign was led by FBEYE International, with founder Warren Foster-Brown returning to a hotel he helped shape when it first opened in 2008. This time, the reference point is close at hand: the nearby Singapore Botanic Gardens, which informs the refreshed interiors throughout the property.
Among the headline changes are a completed 335 sq m Presidential Suite and three new dining venues: Sophia, The Tea Room and The St Regis Bar. The update also folds in a quieter layer of practical changes, with motion sensors activating blinds and air-conditioning only when needed, in-room water taps replacing single-use plastic bottles, eco-composite flooring made with recycled material, and refillable bathroom amenities in place of disposable packaging.
The hotel’s 10 event venues have been refreshed too, including the John Jacob Ballroom, which now has two large LED walls, and a foyer bar designed for pre-event drinks. Next to the main building, Caroline’s Mansion remains available for smaller gatherings; once an indoor tennis court, it was converted in 2019 into a separate venue with its own entrance, staircase and rooms that can be divided up. Useful for travellers eyeing a polished stay, or anyone comparing Singapore hotels with strong meetings and dining offers.
