Ora Hospitality, the hotel arm of the real estate company Ora Developers, has announced a new ultra-luxury brand. It doesn't have a name yet, but its first property will be a resort on Mykonos, due to open in May 2027. The driving force is founder Naguib Sawiris, who has returned to the island with his family for decades and is shaping the project himself, from custom playlists to artwork sourced from local artists. He says he chose to build his own brand rather than sign with an international one.

The €100 million resort sits on a hillside above Kalo Livadi Bay, on a largely undeveloped stretch of coast with open views across the Aegean. Rockwell Group is designing it village-style: 60 rooms, 28 suites and five villas, each with sea views and private outdoor space, and an easy flow between inside and out. There will be four restaurants and bars, event space for 200 guests and a 900 square-metre wellness centre, with partners in wellness and food still to be named.

The stated aim is to show a quieter, more understated side of Mykonos. This comes from a press release, so there is nothing to book yet. Worth noting if you like the island at a slower pace; check back nearer the opening for the name and details.
