Seth & Manni's, a Memphis Milano deli and cocktail bar in Ibiza
DJs Seth Troxler and DJ Tennis open a harbourside deli in Marina Botafoch, fitted out with Memphis colour and original furniture.
Seth Troxler and Manfredi Romano, better known as DJ Tennis, are fixtures of Ibiza's summer clubs. Now the longtime friends have opened Seth & Manni's, a neighbourhood deli and cocktail bar in Marina Botafoch, looking across the harbour to the old walled town of Dalt Vila. It's less of a leap than it sounds. Troxler, raised in Michigan, already runs the barbecue project Smokey Tails, and Sicilian-born Romano is a trained cook behind Munchietown, his platform for cooking videos and dinners. A place of their own gives them a foothold on the island beyond the season.
The interior is by Toby Gauley with Memphis Milano, and Yatzer reports it is the collective's first official restaurant collaboration. Teal overhangs sweep above the open kitchen and bar, cove ceilings carry orange ribbing and cobalt panels, and swirling ALPI wood-grain veneers first developed by Ettore Sottsass run across counters and walls, all set against stainless steel and a black ceiling. Original pieces include Sottsass's Carlton bookcase and Michele De Lucchi's 1983 First chairs and stools, while a wall of vintage televisions, speakers and records nods to the founders' day jobs.
The menu crosses American deli staples with Sicilian street food, Mediterranean touches and island produce, and the cocktails were developed with the consultancy Soulshakers. A good pick for design lovers who'd rather spend an Ibiza evening at a table than on a dancefloor.
