Bar and Breakfast is built around a simple idea: one room can carry you from morning coffee to late drinks without feeling forced. In Lviv’s historic centre, the venue takes over the ground floor of a century-old building, with Ukrainian studio Replus Bureau shaping the space as a café, restaurant and bar in one. Rather than wiping the slate clean, the design leans on what was already there, especially a run of mid-century green wall tiles and the generous arched windows opening onto the street.

Inside, each section has its own character. The first room is bright and open, with retro-style ceiling light panels and bistro-style seating. Further in, a larger bar and oversized speakers give the second hall more of a club edge, while glass blocks soften the light and vintage chairs keep things relaxed. In the third hall, a raised podium splits the seating into two levels, and a rear passage leads to a separate VIP lounge.

The details are what make it memorable. Existing Austrian terrazzo tiles were lifted and reused on the podium floor, Soviet-era parquet has been recycled, and the material palette mixes stainless steel, plywood, recycled concrete terrazzo and linoleum. Best of all is the hidden DJ booth: by day it reads as a stainless-steel table for four, with a concealed subwoofer; by night it becomes the music desk. One to note if you like your coffee stop to turn naturally into an evening out.
