A new bar settles into Corinthia London
Tom Kerridge’s restaurant now has a companion bar, with freezer Martinis, bar food and a smarter divide between drinks and dinner.
Tom Kerridge’s restaurant at Corinthia London has been reworked into two distinct spaces: a more intimate 57-cover Kerridge’s, and a larger new bar next door called Georgie’s Bar. The name comes from Kerridge’s Boxer, Georgie, whose paw print in wet concrete at The Hand & Flowers in Marlow became an emblem for the London restaurant and now appears throughout the new room.
Georgie’s is set up for drinks and a looser kind of meal. The cocktail list includes four Martinis served from the freezer — Dry, Wet, Dirty and a Steak version of the Gibson with a house-smoked pickled onion — alongside standards such as the French 75, Negroni, Old Fashioned and Espresso Martini. Food runs from pork scratchings, beef jerky and buttermilk fried chicken to haddock fritters with Matson sauce and a cheeseburger with BBQ brisket.
Behind a velvet partition, Kerridge’s remains focused on seasonal British produce, with head chef Tom Childs leading the kitchen alongside Kerridge. Dishes mentioned here include crab crumpet with isot biber chilli, Orkney scallop pie, whole Cornish lobster Thermidor and Gary Rhodes’ bread and butter pudding. The redesign, by Tibbatts Abel with Natural Selection Design, leans into leather, dark timber, marble and brass, with artwork by Beth Cullen-Kerridge, pieces from West Contemporary artists and bespoke tabletops by Robi Walters. Useful if you want a proper dinner one night and just Martinis and bar snacks the next.
