Wallpaper*'s monthly round-up of houses for October 2026 gathers twelve, and a fair few are on the market. Pierre Koenig's Stahl House in Los Angeles is still unsold after a $5 million cut to $20 million. The piece blames its modest two bedrooms, a ban on alterations and costly upkeep. Also listed are the restored 1956 Eichler X-100 in Northern California, Carl Maston's 1984 Susman House at Faria Beach for $5.1 million, and Sylvan Rock, a Hudson Valley compound made with Aston Martin and S3 Architecture, for $19.5 million.

Among the new builds is Arshia Mahmoodi's Avocado House above Yucca Valley, three intersecting circles around a crescent courtyard 'pit'. In London, Architecture for London has rejoined two flats into one Victorian house in Kentish Town, and Bolans Architects has added a green ceramic extension in Brockley. Further afield are B.E. Architecture's white-brick Casa Piva in Melbourne's Malvern East and FLXBL's carved concrete Solidus in Ahmedabad. There is also a zig-zag-roofed villa near Khao Yai by HAS Design and Research that stays cool without air conditioning, and Tosin Oshinowo's OA House on Ikaare Island off Lagos.

For film fans, there is Jens Quistgaard's sawtooth-roofed 1960s house in Armonk, which shaped the sets for the thriller Verity.

These are all private homes, so this one is for reading rather than visiting: a good browse of who is building what, and where.
