A members’ club pub arrives on Portman Square
Home House has opened Cedric’s, a British pub with Russell Sage interiors and classic dishes for members.
Home House has added a pub to its Portman Square address: Cedric’s, a new British drinking and dining room inside the private members’ club with rooms. The idea is a familiar local, reworked through Home House’s more playful house style, with interiors by Russell Sage. It is very much part of the club rather than a standalone opening, so this is one for members and their guests rather than a new public house for the neighbourhood.
On the menu are recognisably pubby dishes, including Cumberland sausages, monkfish scampi and a smashed burger, followed by Chelsea bun bread and butter pudding, Guinness and chocolate cake or an Irish coffee. Beer is central to the drinks side, with East Sussex producer Lakedown Brewing Co named as Home House’s exclusive beer partner until January 2028. The brewery makes lagers, pale ales, IPAs and more traditional British styles.
This one is less about a new London pub to seek out than a fresh corner within an existing club. Still, if you are already passing through Home House, Cedric’s sounds like the spot to look for when you want something a little less formal than the usual members’ dining room.
