Hotel

Waldorf Astoria New York
After a prolonged closure, the Park Avenue landmark has reopened with 375 redesigned rooms and suites, the 1893 World's Fair clock back in its lobby, and Peacock Alley restored for cocktails and refined dining.
The story
This is the hotel credited with inventing Eggs Benedict and red velvet cake, now reimagined from sidewalk to spire. Rooms pair classic, timeless furnishings with modern touches such as motorized curtains, touch-button lighting and heated toilets, and some look out over Park Avenue. There is also a spa, a long, open fitness center, and sauna and steam rooms. The hotel holds two Michelin Keys for 2026. Dining has three anchors. Lex Yard is a brasserie from chef Michael Anthony. Yoshoku focuses on kaiseki, with both tasting and à la carte menus, and also serves an unusual afternoon tea. Peacock Alley sits beside the big clock and a grand piano, with live music, a solid wine selection and a Devil's Martini honouring The Devil Wears Prada, which was partly filmed here.
