Park Hyatt New York

Hyatt's flagship Park Hyatt fills the first 25 floors of the 90-story One57 skyscraper across from Carnegie Hall, with unusually large rooms, a 350-piece art collection, an indoor saltwater pool and Spa Nalai.

The story

Hyatt opened this flagship in 2014 inside One57, the Midtown tower designed by Pritzker Prize winner Christian de Portzamparc. Yabu Pushelberg modelled the interiors on grand Upper East Side homes, and all 210 rooms, 92 of them suites, have floor-to-ceiling windows. Standard rooms rank among the largest in the city, and bathrooms come with heated floors, waterfall showers and Le Labo amenities. Around 350 artworks, by Ellsworth Kelly, Robert Longo and Rob Fischer among others, hang throughout, with at least ten made for the hotel. The Living Room bar looks across to Carnegie Hall, while the Onyx Room, lit by glowing white onyx walls, hosts dinners and receptions. Spa Nalai, named for the Lenape word for serenity, offers a signature earthing treatment on a warmed sand quartz bed, alongside a saltwater pool with a small hot tub.
