Objects With Narratives
Objects With Narratives brings its collectible design and functional art to Antwerp, in a restored city palace with over 120 years of history that was once home to a renowned private museum and collection.
The story
Belgian brothers Nik and Robbe Vandewyngaerde, architect-engineers who worked for firms such as Herzog & de Meuron and OMA, founded the gallery with their lifelong friend Oskar Eryatmaz. It represents contemporary craftspeople who work through material-led processes and use traditional techniques in a modern way. The guiding idea is that a piece's story counts for more than its looks or function alone. The work ranges from limited editions and one-of-a-kind collector items to site-specific installations, with only a few pieces made each year. The Antwerp gallery joins showrooms in Bruges, set in an 18th-century mansion, and in Geneva on the shores of Lac Léman. Represented names include Paul Cocksedge, Ben Storms, Lionel Jadot and Olivia Cognet. The gallery also shows at fairs such as PAD Paris, PAD London and BRAFA.
