The story
De Puta Madre occupies the grounds of Villa Magnan, where tables sit in a garden and greenhouse lit by candles and dressed with large flower arrangements. Guests can carry a glass around the garden before dinner, meet Hector the donkey and a sheep, or wait by the fireplace. Dinner is a single traditional menu with no choice of dishes, built on fresh, homemade cooking; grilled oysters, green gazpacho, ceviche, lobster bisque risotto, whole turbot and basil ice cream have all featured, in generous portions. The chefs often come by at the end of the meal to greet each table, and staff help match bottles to the food, pet nat included. Next door, Chez Babette is a counter open for lunch and apéritif, with small plates to share, local products and cold drinks.
