Cinemazero Ass. Culturale

A cultural association as much as a cinema, Cinemazero runs four screens in Pordenone showing current Italian and international films, some in original language, alongside archive, publishing and festival work.

The story

Screens named Pasolini, Toto and Modotti sit alongside the larger Grande, and the daily programme mixes Italian releases with international titles, including films by directors such as Paweł Pawlikowski and Andrey Zvyagintsev. Some screenings are in the original version, and the programme guide, known as the zerino, can be downloaded to plan ahead. Beyond the screens, the association keeps film archives, runs a digital production studio and the Media:teca, publishes books, hosts artistic residencies and has its own Zerorchestra and the Tucker Film label. It also offers training, programmes for schools and a Young Club, and is involved with events including Cinema Sotto le Stelle, FMK festival, Le giornate del cinema muto, Gli occhi sull'Africa and Pordenone Docs Fest.

Good to know

TAGGG AI
  • The bar in front is a handy spot to meet for a drink or snack before the film.
  • The space is cosy and compact, so expect an intimate setting rather than a large multiplex.
