Sylvan Rock, an Aston Martin co-designed house in the Hudson Valley, for sale
A faceted metal roof snakes over blackened cedar and glass on a 55-acre wooded site near Red Hook, New York.
Aston Martin has been edging into real estate for a few years, and Sylvan Rock is the second one-off home from its design service, after a Tokyo residence completed in 2025. The car maker worked with local practice S3 Architecture on a house that wraps around the rocky outcrop it is named after, on 55 acres of Hudson Valley forest less than two hours from Manhattan.
The thing you'd notice first is the roof: a jagged, faceted metal line that shifts from vertical cladding to diagonal planes and dips to the ground to form a car port. Christopher Dierig of S3 says it echoes the rock ledge, as if the house is 'born of' the landscape. Beneath it, blackened cedar and broad glazing open onto trees, with the Catskills in the distance and no neighbours in sight.
Inside are four bedrooms, raised ceilings in the main rooms and furniture made with Aston Martin's designers, plus a gym, spa, cinema, wine storage and an underground gallery garage for cars. Outside there's a 50-foot pool, an outdoor kitchen, three guest houses, a treehouse, a spring-fed pond and trails.
It's a private home listed with Corcoran Country Living at $19.5 million, so this one is for admiring from afar unless your budget stretches.
