The Wolseley, a name long tied to London, is taking its social-club idea to New York. Its first members' club is due to open in the second quarter of 2027 inside The Wolseley Hotel New York, a 77-room hotel at 130 West 44th Street in Manhattan. The building has a good backstory: it was the clubhouse Stanford White designed for The Lambs, described as America's first professional theatrical club.

At its heart sits the restored Stanford White Room, set aside for gatherings, performances, private events and cultural programming. Around it, over several levels, there will be lounges, dining rooms, private salons and terraces, with food and drink running all day. Members also get wellness facilities, longevity programming, dining privileges and a social calendar meant to link New York with London and other cities.

Dillip Rajakarier, group CEO of parent company Minor International, calls it an all-day "social living room", and talks of bringing together founders, artists, producers, investors and philanthropists who might not otherwise share a room.

This comes from a press release, so there is nothing to book yet, and as a members' club it won't be open to everyone; the article doesn't say how to join. Worth noting if you're curious about the Lambs' old clubhouse, or already fond of the London original.
