Luca Guadagnino's world, made for Zara Home
The director and architect Stefano Baisi release more than 200 pieces of furniture and decor.
Film director Luca Guadagnino and architect Stefano Baisi have been building worlds together since 2017, when Baisi began leading Guadagnino's interior architecture studio. Their projects range from a Dior runway to film sets to a hotel in a 16th-century school building. Now they've made something you can take home: a Zara Home collection of more than 200 pieces of furniture and decor, plus clothing.
The pair started by spreading their references on the table, from saved phone photos to artworks and writers, and found their common thread in the Vienna Secession. Guadagnino singles out a small silver and coral box by Koloman Moser as a key influence, with French Art Deco, Brazilian modernism and Italian radical design in the mix too.
The result is crisp and tailored. Think stainless steel chairs, oak coffee tables with high-gloss tops, and the Elsewhere lamp, whose thin arching neck and triangular shade feel almost space-age. The upholstery stands tall as well: the Bretonita sofa comes in hunter-green flannel with burgundy piping, while the Uncollected sofa sits low on a sycamore base.
Prices run from $16.90 to $18,400. The launch comes with a short film directed by Guadagnino and a two-day pop-up at La Pelota in Milan during Fashion Week.
