WIN wine bar & shop

Part wine bar, part bottle shop, WIN pairs a large list of unusual wines from around the world, including Polish orange wine by the glass, with cooking from chef Mateusz Karkoszka.

The story

The wine program, built around the Enoterra project, runs deep: glasses that travel through Europe's wine regions, a strong champagne selection and even non-alcoholic wine. With so many labels to choose from, staff steer guests through the list, pour samples before they commit and suggest pairings with the food. Bottles from the shop shelves can be taken home afterwards, with a discount for those who have eaten or drunk in. In the kitchen, chefs Mateusz Karkoszka and Adam turn out varied starters and mains, with ceviche a standout, and mornings bring breakfast, including cream cheese with hazelnuts. The neat, carefully designed room, down to the cutlery, is quiet and calm, suited to unhurried dinners for two, and staff make a fuss of dogs too.
