The story

Tavernaki calls itself an Asian taverna, a place where Greek roots meet an Asian soul, and it brings that idea to Kolonaki in central Athens. The restaurant began as a concept on Adam Kodovas's computer before taking shape as a real room, with its own furniture, colours, kitchen, bar, food, wines and music. Kodovas credits a group of partners who believed in the project from the first moment, and the opening night was fully booked. The cooking leans towards tasty, original dishes rather than familiar standards. A polite, attentive team runs the floor, and the setting is relaxed and pleasant for a long evening of sharing plates and wine.
