Robert et Louise

Robert et Louise grills meat over a wood fire, with côte de bœuf, rib-eye, T-bone, lamb, veal kidneys, and communal tables that often bring strangers together.

€30–50

The story

Robert et Louise is built around wood-fire grilling and a menu of substantial classics: côte de bœuf for two, rib-eye, T-bone steak, lamb chops, leg of lamb, veal kidneys, duck confit, tiger prawns, and a mushrooms omelette. Sautéed potatoes, salad, or vegetables come alongside, with cheese plates and straightforward desserts following after. The room has a long-established, traditional character, and shared tables remain part of the house routine, often placing different parties side by side over bottles from the cellar. Open since 1958 and now run by Pascale, one of Robert and Louise’s daughters, with François, the restaurant keeps its focus narrow and clear: smoky grilled meats, classic French dishes, and an unfussy, convivial format.
