Farm

Richardson Adventure Farm
Home to what it bills as the world's largest corn maze, this Spring Grove farm runs from a spring tulip festival through fall pumpkin picking to choose-and-cut Christmas trees.
The story
The maze covers 33 acres of live corn with five different maze games, and it stays open into the night; the 2017 design was dedicated to the Chicago Cubs' World Championship. Around it sit train and wagon rides, a carousel, jumping pillows, petting zoos, pedal karts, a giant slide, a rope spider web, ziplining, zorbing and a paintball range, plus pig races with commentary from the farm's owners. In spring the fields fill with tulips in many colours and shapes, and each ticket includes a stem to cut and take home; there are sunflower fields too. Fall brings pick-your-own pumpkins, pumpkin smashing, apple cider donuts from the Donut Depot and fudge from the Fudge Bin, while adults can head to a 21+ barn pouring craft beer, seltzers and cider mimosas.
Good to know
TAGGG AI- ✦Visit on a weekday or early in the morning to avoid crowds and get photos without people in the background.
- ✦The tulip fields are open dirt paths that turn muddy after rain and are rocky in places, so wear sturdy waterproof shoes and skip the stroller.
- ✦For the tulip festival, the last week of April is suggested for the best blooms, so check season timings before going.
