Fine dining restaurant

Restaurant Story
Tom Sellers tells the story of British food through an ever-evolving seasonal tasting menu at this two-Michelin-star restaurant, which occupies an unlikely setting: a converted toilet.
The story
Restaurant Story won its first Michelin star just five months after opening in 2013, and a second followed in 2021. The menu changes with the seasons, and each course arrives with a story behind it, down to the opening snacks, which gives the restaurant its name. Dishes lean on bright acidity and playful touches. Signatures include the Storeo, a goat's cheese mousse sandwiched between burnt hay biscuits, and Halftime Oranges. The best known is the candle, made from beef fat, which melts down to be eaten with brioche. The dining room is small, intimate and modern, with an unstuffy mood. Each table receives a printed menu bearing the guests' names and the date, and the chef comes out to talk with diners.
Good to know
TAGGG AI- ✦The eight-course tasting menu is a long meal, so set aside most of an evening, especially for larger groups.
- ✦At lunch you can ask for a shorter five-course menu, which is not offered in the evening.
- ✦The kitchen adapts the tasting menu well for dietary needs such as gluten-free and dairy-free.
