Restaurant Guy Savoy
Guy Savoy's Paris flagship occupies rooms inside the Monnaie de Paris on the Quai de Conti, pairing views over the Seine with a famous artichoke and black truffle soup and the chef's own welcome.
The story
Guests enter through the Palais de la Monnaie, and the restaurant unfolds as a series of named dining rooms: Belles Bacchantes with its high ceilings and chandelier, Vert Galant for King Henry on the Pont Neuf, an intimate Bibliothèque, Bouquinistes for the booksellers along the quays, and a corner room looking over both the Institut de France and the Seine. Guy Savoy himself, now a member of the Académie des beaux-arts, often greets diners. The signature is artichoke soup with black truffle and a layered truffled mushroom brioche. The full tasting menu, Colours, Textures & Flavours, is served to the whole table, while lunch brings a seven-course menu called Keep it simple. Meals end with a trolley of ice creams, sorbets, dessert jars and old-fashioned biscuits. On Saturday lunchtimes, classic French dishes for sharing join the menu.
Good to know
TAGGG AI- ✦The seven-course lunch menu, with optional wine pairing, is the most accessible way to experience the kitchen.
- ✦Staff may encourage eating the artichoke truffle soup with your hands, dipping the brioche, and extra servings are sometimes offered.
- ✦Come hungry and book ahead: the courses are substantial, and many guests leave too full for another bite.
