Parc des Princes

Paris Saint-Germain's home ground is the largest football stadium in the Paris region after the Stade de France, with compact stands set close to the pitch and a self-guided tour that reaches the dressing rooms.

The story

The club has played here since the 1970s, and the stadium comes alive mostly on match nights, when pre-game shows bring fireworks and dynamic lighting and supporters keep up continuous chants. Plain concrete outside, it is well renovated within and dressed throughout in PSG colours. A suite built into the stadium even lets guests watch a home match and stay the night. Away from fixtures, the tour follows signs rather than a guide: out onto the pitch, into the changing rooms and VIP boxes, onto the coach's bench and into the interview room for a mock press conference, with the Champions League trophy on display. Summers have brought a zip line across the stadium and night sessions with DJ sets, while at Christmas a mock ice rink and food stalls appear.

Good to know

TAGGG AI
  • A metro station sits just around the corner from the stadium, making the trip from central Paris easy.
  • Big Champions League matches can sell out, so buy tickets well in advance rather than deciding on the day.
  • The stadium tour ends with a chance to take a shot at goal and includes retro video games to play.
