Palau Sant Jordi

On Montjuïc's Anella Olímpica, this curving indoor arena is one of Barcelona's main stages for big touring acts, from Hans Zimmer and Lady Gaga to Rosalía, with sweeping city views outside its doors.

The story

Palau Sant Jordi's smooth curves and wide, open spaces give it a distinctive presence on the hill, set among gardens and offering some of the most striking views in Barcelona. Alongside the main hall sits the smaller Sant Jordi Club, which runs its own busy programme of gigs. The calendar mixes Spanish stars such as Dani Martín, Melendi, David Bisbal and La Oreja de Van Gogh with international names including The Strokes, Bryan Adams and Niall Horan, while acts like Deep Purple and Fontaines D.C. play the Club. Inside, the large hall offers good sight lines and plenty of toilets, and a lawn and balcony give concertgoers somewhere to step outside during a show.

Good to know

TAGGG AI
  • From Plaça d'Espanya, a walk with a series of escalators reaches the venue in about 20 minutes.
  • After shows, traffic runs downhill only and taxis are scarce, so plan to walk back to Plaça d'Espanya.
  • Drink and food queues can get long during concerts, so stock up before the headline act starts.
