KIKO KOSTADINOV LONDON

Rust carpet, pontoon chairs and a looping Ryan Trecartin video set the scene at Kiko Kostadinov's Hackney flagship, a store beneath the label's studio that stocks its latest menswear and womenswear collections.

The story

Designed by THISS Studio, the shop sits in Adelaide Wharf directly below the brand's own studio, one of three Kiko Kostadinov stores alongside Tokyo and Los Angeles. Its centrepiece is Stunt Tank, a 2016 sculptural theatre by American artist Ryan Trecartin and Lizzie Fitch, realised with Rhett LaRue and rebuilt here from pontoon chairs, custom railings, carpet and a drop ceiling around a 44-minute video loop. It is the third such installation by Trecartin for the label, following Tokyo and Los Angeles. The opening was marked with a collection that merged menswear and womenswear for the first time: a witty take on British countryside dressing built around Lakeland terrier motifs inspired by Dante, the studio's office dog, alongside a new earth-toned collaboration with Levi's. The range also takes in the label's ASICS collaborations.
