The story
Il Gattopardo began in London's Mayfair and expanded to Dubai before arriving in Istanbul, where it occupies the top floor of Communité at Galataport. The group pairs Italy's culinary heritage with a contemporary approach, and the Istanbul room carries that through with deep burgundy tones and intimate lighting that make it suited to a special evening. The menu leans on Italian classics done with care. Sicilian-style arancini come filled with beef ragù and smoked scamorza, and burrata is smoked over cherrywood. Gamberi, lobster pasta, other pasta dishes and beef round out the mains, with gelato to finish. A tableside sgroppino mixes lemon sorbet with Prosecco, vodka and grappa, an Italian digestif given a playful twist.
