The story
The hotel pairs old Cognac heritage with neo-industrial design. Its 92 rooms and suites spread across four buildings, finished in a classic French style with noble and natural materials, while the original Chais keep the character of the historic structure. Rooms range from Deluxe and Premier to the Jean-Gabriel Monnet Suite, and there are also apartments. Dining runs from Les Foudres, the Michelin-starred restaurant, to La Distillerie, a contemporary brasserie. Bar 1838 is a jazz bar pouring well over 300 cognacs alongside its cocktails, and a rooftop lounge looks out across the town. The spa has an indoor and outdoor pool, jacuzzi, saunas, hammams and four treatment rooms. Packages with Hennessy, Rémy Martin and Hine bring cognac tastings and mixology into a stay.
