EDJI Gallery

Ultracontemporary art by emerging and early-career artists from around the world fills this Ixelles gallery, which toured Europe and the US as a nomadic programme before settling into a permanent space in Brussels.

The story

Founded in 2023 and run by Edward and Ranji, EDJI works closely with its artists to present new bodies of work across gallery exhibitions, art fairs and special projects. It guides both first-time and established collectors, with an emphasis on making discovering and buying art direct and transparent. The roster is broad, drawing painters from Mexico City, Wrocław, Rotterdam, Paris and Richmond. Shows change regularly. The group exhibition Intimate Figures gathered five painters approaching the body through narrative, myth and near-abstraction. American artist Robert Martin's first European solo show, A Gift of Tears, paired watercolours modelled on stained glass, filled with birds, snakes and leaves, with a mural whose painted flock of wild geese continued as sculptures moving across the gallery. Downstairs, a basement bookshop stocks titles across several genres.
