Crafts Council

The Crafts Council's London gallery puts craft and makers on show, with exhibitions, showcases and events that open up the organisation's own collection for a closer look.

The story

Crafts Council Gallery is the London exhibition space of the Crafts Council, a non-profit organisation devoted to crafts and the people who make them. The refurbished gallery stages exhibitions and showcases, from a Fedrigoni design exhibition to displays of makers' work, with objects presented in a manner closer to a museum than a commercial gallery. The Crafts Council also keeps a collection, and events such as Behind the Collection and guided tours of its collections store bring those pieces out for a closer look. Beyond its own programme, the gallery is available for dry hire. It has hosted its first wedding reception, with the team supplying a list of recommended caterers and lighting and AV firms it had worked with before.
