Clinton Public Library

Clinton's public library lends far more than books, from pickleball kits and cake pans to museum and zoo passes, and runs a second-floor Makerspace with 3D printers and sewing machines.

The story

Housed in a historic building, the Clinton Public Library holds books, periodicals, music CDs, DVDs, audiobooks and reference materials for all ages. Its lending shelf stretches to the unusual: book club kits, memory kits, cookie cutters, cake pans, pickleball kits and passes to museums and zoos. Digital borrowing runs through Libby, Kanopy and Freegal. Upstairs, the Special Collections Department gathers indexes, microfilm, periodicals and books for tracing family history. The Makerspace next to it offers Cricut and Silhouette cutters, button makers, embroidery and sewing machines, laminators and 3D printers, with classes to match, and doubles as a bookable meeting room. Free programs fill the calendar, from storytimes for small children and an anime club for teens to crafting nights, book clubs and guest speakers.
