The story

The grand room at The London EDITION hotel, with its chandeliers, high ceiling and art-lined walls, is one of the city's best-known dining spaces. The cooking is contemporary British, built on seasonal produce from the British Isles, with modern takes on classics across breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. A private dining room above the main restaurant seats up to 12. At dinner, a salmon trolley brings Loch Duart gravlax, gin-cured or beetroot-cured, carved at the table with chopped egg, capers, shallots and trout caviar. The pork and pistachio pie comes with pickles and mustard, and the prawn cocktail has a touch of wasabi in its dressing. On Sundays the roast arrives with crisp Yorkshire puddings and crackling potatoes, often to the sound of a live jazz band.
