Bar Douro Soho

Vaca velha, beef from Portuguese cows aged six years and older, cooked over an open grill, anchors the menu at Bar Douro's Soho outpost, alongside honest Portuguese cooking and characterful wines.

The story

The third London restaurant from Bar Douro, after London Bridge and the City, brings the group's Portuguese food and wine to Greek Street, with an opening set for November 2026. Chef Neuza's menu pairs Bar Douro favourites with new dishes developed especially for Soho. Its centrepiece is vaca velha, beef from older cows of Portugal's native breeds, including Maronesa, Minhota, Mirandesa, Arouquesa and Barrosã, given time to deepen in flavour. Max and Neuza choose the animals on the farm and the restaurant imports the beef itself; the breed and farm change each week, and the meat is cooked over the open grill. The elegant, comfortable dining room is lined with blue and white azulejo tiles, a setting suited to group meals as well as smaller tables.
