Available Items
Two longtime design professionals run this shop from a two-story 19th-century house in Tivoli, filling it with modern design objects, furniture, ceramics, books and rotating art exhibitions.
The story
The rooms of this house in the historic village of Tivoli hold a mix of handmade vases, collectible design pieces and furniture, many of them made locally. Finds range from Italian folding chairs and an antique J & J Kohn bentwood chair to Alison Owen platters, alongside design books such as Enzo Mari's Autoprogettazione and a volume on the furniture of R.M. Schindler. The owners, a couple, run the place as a community gathering space as much as a store, with classes and exhibitions. Recent shows include still life photographs by interiors photographer Chris Mottalini and his son Nino, and an abstract outdoor sculpture by Catskill artist Tristan Fitch. There is also an annual Kids Art Show, and the shop runs a book kiosk in Hudson.
